We Know Life Happens
At ProVision Eye Associates, our patients are our neighbors, our community, and in many cases, our friends. When something comes up — a sick child, a work emergency, an unexpected situation — we get it. We genuinely do.
Our cancellation policy exists not to penalize patients, but to protect appointment availability for everyone in our practice. When a slot goes unfilled with little notice, another patient who needed care that day misses out. The policy below reflects that reality — and our commitment to treating every situation with respect and individual consideration.
Our 24-Hour Cancellation Policy
We ask that cancellations and appointment changes be made at least 24 hours before your scheduled visit. This gives us the opportunity to offer that time to another patient who is waiting for care.
Late Cancellations & Missed Appointments
For appointments cancelled or rescheduled within 24 hours of the scheduled time — or for appointments where a patient does not arrive — we reserve the right to apply a missed appointment fee. This fee helps offset the cost of the reserved time and the clinical preparation that goes into every visit.
We want to be clear: this fee is not automatically applied. Every situation is different, and we review each case individually. If you had a genuine emergency, please reach out to us — we will always listen and do our best to work with you.
How We Handle Each Situation
We treat every patient as an individual — not a policy number. When a missed or late cancellation occurs, our team will reach out personally. We'll ask how you're doing before we discuss anything else.
We take into account your history with our practice, the circumstances you share with us, and what's fair for everyone involved. Our goal is never to make a difficult situation harder — it's to maintain a practice where every patient can count on getting the care they need, when they need it.
If something came up and you need to reschedule, please call us as soon as you can. The earlier we know, the better we can accommodate you and help another patient in need.
